1955 First car of the “DKW Meisterklasse” with wooden bodywork
1964 The company is restructured and the name changed into Josef Schnell Holz- und Bautenschutz KG Baden- Baden
1964 The company specialising in electrical equipment Josef Schnell GmbH, Unternehmen für elektrische Anlagen Baden-Baden was founded
1965 First plough (for earthing strips)
1966 The first car telephone (A-Netz: first mobile telecommunications system in Germany)
1970 Acquisition of the company Bauer, construction company in Lörrach
1971 The company moves from Lörrach to Weil am Rhein Haltingen
1980 The company Josef Schnell Hirschberg becomes an independent operating company
1982 The first cable plough goes into operation
1984 The company moves to Hirschberg into the Bauhof (builder’s yard) Ladenburg
1989 Construction of the Josefskapelle (Josef Chapel) in Varnhalt
1991 Takes over of the construction company Rudolf Wacker GmbH Bauunternehmung Offenburg
1992 The company Josef Schnell Berlin is founded
1995 Moves from Berlin to Freiwalde im Spreewald.
2002 The facility in Freiwalde is closed
2005 50th anniversary of the company
2007 Alexander Schnell (3rd generation) assumes the management responsibilities in Hirschberg
2011 The 3rd generation assumes management responsabilities , Timm Schnell becomes facility man ager in Weil a. Rh. Linda Schnell becomes assistant to the management in Baden-Baden, Alexander Schnell becomes managing director in Hirschberg
2012 Purchase of a new Föckersperger FSP22 cable plough with a winch-crawler FWF82
2014 The new mud rotary drill Black Mole 18 ACS is dispatched
2015 The company celebrates 60 years in business. Approximately 200 staff are employed at four business locations
2016 Alexander Schnell succeeds to the management of Josef Schnell Holding GmbH
2017 Timm Schnell becomes managing director of Josef Schnell GmbH Bauunternehmung in Weil am Rhein
2019 Linda Schnell becomes commercial director of the four construction companies
2020 Expansion of innovative technologies in the Josef Schnell group
2021 New and larger premises in Efringen-Kirchen acquired and rebuilt. We relocated now from Haltingen to Efringen Kirchen.
2022 Norbert Schnell hands over the management of Josef Schnell Holding GmbH to his son Timm Schnell
